I thought I’d share a new series I started on my instagram (same name as here) and it’s dedicated to unusual mythology characters.

Sirin is a mythological creature of Russian legends, with the head and chest of a beautiful woman and the body of a bird.Sirins sang beautiful songs to the saints, foretelling future joys. For mortals, however, the birds were dangerous. Men who heard them would forget everything on earth, follow them, and ultimately die. Sometimes Sirins are seen as a metaphor for God’s word going into the soul of a man. Sometimes they are seen as a metaphor of heretics tempting the weak.

Guys, our short film about wizarding world in Russia is airing today at SDCC, run as fast as you can and watch it if you happen to be around✨✨✨✨✨

It’s impossible to put in words just how excited we are! ‘Magic First’ has been shortlisted for screening at Comic-Con International — the biggest annual festival, celebrating movies, comics and pop-culture, which is held in San-Diego, US, since 1970. On Thursday, July 19th, our team led by the director Kate Krasner presents a refined version of the film made specially for Comic-Con to the American public.

This is the first Russian project of such scale to be presented at Comic-Con. Made by fans and for them with our own funds and without help of large studios or government support, it is one of the few Russian films to ever be picked by the jury for screening at the convention.
